The Bear is a bizarre tragedy masquerading as a farce.

An Unwilling Martyr is an odd farce masquerading as a tragedy.

This double bill of Checkhov's short vaudevilles has been developed through experimentation with the support of The Factory through their Directors Studio.

Each performance explores the physical landscape of these plays as the actors improvise within a different audience configuration each night.

"A bold and brilliant initiative born of passion for the theatre, the desire to continuously hone and develop...and a need to discover new dimentions to theatre practice."
Kathryn Hunter on The Factory's Directors Studio.
